01. Pneumonia
Pneumonia, which occurs frequently with infants, develops from upper bronchitis, as is the case with the common cold and influenza (epidemic cold), and is in many cases a complication.
Also, many cases of pneumonia are caused by bronchitis and called bronchial pneumonia.

* It is difficult to breathe and at every breath there is a wheezing sound and the chest hollows in.
* Dry coughs
* The fever goes up to 38.5째C.
* Vomiting and diarrhea
* The chest pains worsen with every deep breath.

* Immediately visit a doctor if the symptoms worsen and breathing becomes severely difficult.

02. Meningitis
Meningitis, which is the inflammation of the membranes covering the brain and spinal cord, is caused by bacteria riding the blood flowing throughout the whole body as an effect of an ear or body condition.

* The fever reaches up to 40째C.
* The neck becomes stiff.
* Fatigue
* Headaches
* It is difficult to fully open the eyes and look at light.
* The fontanel is swollen.
* The mind becomes tired and cloudy.
* Vomiting
* Plum-colored rashes appear all over the body.

03. Acute laryngitis
Acute laryngitis is the inflammation of the larynx and the vocal cords, and an acute disease that causes rough breathing sounds and a swollen occipital region.
The occipital region of infants is extremely small compared to that of adults and therefore even a small swelling can lead to noises in the region and worsened symptoms.

As the occipital region grows, the symptoms gradually weaken and acute laryngitis does not develop after 5 years old.
Go to the emergency room if the symptoms do not improve within 30 minutes, the fever is worsening and the infant is drooling.

* Bathe with hot water.
* Raise the humidity through a humidifier etc.

04. Tympanitis
The ears become painful and hearing may be lost if the condition is severe.

* The baby has a fever and is fretful.
* The baby feels pain in the ears and is vomiting.
* Pus and sometimes blood is coming out of the ears.

#Chronic tympanitis: a complication of tympanitis where a fluid runs from the ears and hearing is weakened.

* The doctor must be regularly consulted to prevent complications and hearing loss.

05. Gastroenteritis
Gastroenteritis is an inflammation of the stomach and the gastroenteritis of newborns is mainly caused by the rotavirus.
The condition often occurs with babies under 2 years and may recur later on.
It generally develops through oral infection (stool, hands, mouth), the infection is strong and spreads rapidly, and symptoms start to show after 2~3 days of incubation.

* The main symptoms are vomiting and diarrhea.
* If the condition is severe, the stool becomes watery with a white or yellow hue.
* Many cases show symptoms of common cold, such as a fever, funny nose, and coughs.

* Since severe gastroenteritis is easily accompanied with dehydration and acidosis, it is good to give the baby a combination of 100cc water, a teaspoon of sugar (5g) and a pinch of salt.
* Give a sufficient amount of antipyretics and fluids since a high fever can easily lead to dehydration.
* The baby must be admitted into a pediatric ward if vomiting is severe to the extent that the baby is throwing up water.

#Caution: Administering drugs at home can cause sudden loss of consciousness and convulsions so the doctor셲 instructions should be followed regarding medication.
